Willie Cole (American, born 1955) is a contemporary artist, sculptor, and printmaker. His mother and grandmother were domestic workers, and the iron became the symbol of their labors. He later collected discarded and broken irons, using them to create sculptures and prints which are made by scorching patterns on canvas or paper.
